Topic :   Hello

Hello everyone,
I have finally made it in to  bring everyone up to date on what is going on.
First my computer I think had a graphics card go bad. The image was such that although I could see somewhat, it caused a major headache trying to work on it. This happened while the girls were still on Summer break, so that resulted in little computer time on Daddy's computer as there were three of us to be on it.
The we lost the cable for a few weeks but we still could connect through the wireless connection. Only problem was at the time only the one computer had wireless so that took  us to 5 on one computer to be on line, so even less time on computer.
Tim decided although we could ill afford it to get a new computer so we did some switching around and I had a computer although no access to internet as Tammy took that Hard Drive and I got her old one. No problem.
On Monday following all this trading, Jim (our friend) went to turn on my computer and smelt something hot. He turned it off and when he checked it out, found out that the power supply was gone and that was what he smelled. So once again no computer.
However he has two systems so he hooked one of his systems up for me. We also got internet back. SO although I am  computer and internet until such time as I get a new power supply I can't download programs to his computer, but at least I am going to be able to get online.

On a personnel not.....

Soft is basically finally over! In a lot of ways I am happy about this, it  has been a long year with ball games and practices anywhere to 4 to 6 days  a week. We will still have our pick up games, weather permitting, on Thursday afternoons through October. But the month of October can be very iffy.
I am looking into other things for the Men's Fellowship to continue through the winter months and we will also have winter practice in a gym for softball but that is once a week and I am not sure if I will need to be there or if I can just turn it over to the men coaches. A lot will depend if I am needed as a representative of the church or not. As far as time involved it is more a matter of getting things set up and going. We will have a family night probably every other  month for the fellowship and the fellowship itself once a month. If the family night goes good then we will do it once a month.
Still have Home League on Wednesday and I take the girls  back in on Wednesday afternoon for the youth program, so Wednesday will be a busy day for me. We start our Neighbor Nights back up  tonight but we have decided to  only do this  once a month so that will make things easier for me all the way  around.
I have a bit  of a cold and the weather at this point is messing with my back. Have had a lot of pain because of it. My sinuses as well have been acting up and today I have a nice headache from it.
We are looking for a place to move. We love t here but it is expensive and we  don't ever seem to have money enough to go for the extra  that we would like occasionally.
Well I guess that brings  me up to date with all that is going on in my life. Hopefully I will have my own computer back soon and can  get back in  the swing of things. I am going to post this post at all my grups and then go work on pages for October. You all take it easy and I will try to be back as much as I can under the present problems.

Love you all,
Gaylene

Hi everyone. It is rather on the chilly side this morning, but hard to tell what the afternoon will bring.

I probably won't be on  computer very much, my computer is down so I am on Tim's computer and I have to share time on this one. I wil  stop in when I can.\

Today's plans when I get off here is to finish cleaning cabinets, I got a start but still have  all the kitchen ones to do, I am taking left over steak today and  doing beef and noodles for supper. I also have to get my program done for  the banquet so that is going to be my job tonight.

Tomorrow I will finish registering the  team for the game and our game will be tomorrow night. so wish us luck!

I twisted my back somehow and am having a little bit of pain today, although it isn't as bad as it was yesterday. today I am going to take it easy. We are supposed to go to Tacoma this Wednesday but it is going to depend on how my back is doing if I make the ride over.

Thursday I have the softball pick up game and from there I am going to schedule a practice Saturday Morning for the fall team. Other than that I don't think I have a whole planned this week  although things have a way of popping up for me. On the 11th we will have our first game for the fall league.

I also need to get to work on finishing the planning for the softball banquet. I will need to set down  with the Major to do this. We do have a day scheduled as well to plan Rally Day but that isn't until later in the month. we also have our Church picnic on the 16th and I know that Tim has a day trip planned for later in the month to take Tammy & the girls over to  the ocean at Long Beach as well as the Kite festival.

I didn't get too much done yesterday  after church as we all went shopping. We hit one of the thrift stores and then went to Wal-Mart.

I hadn't been there in a long time. I didn't get very much. One thing that  I got was some book at the thrift store. Most by authors that I like and a couple by new authors. They sell them for 69 cents each. Maybe not as cheap as I would get at a yard sale but still a good deal when you consider the costs of books these days.

I looked for a book rack and also a stand to set the TV on in my room. The only things I could find  wasn't very sturdy so I am still looking. While it  would be nice to just go in and buy what I need I also kinda enjoy the hunt for things at yard sales and thrift stores as well as being able to find things that  fit my budget.

Boy am i tired today. The girls helped me yesterday by picking things up for me in the bedroom and helping me take clothes out of the chest, I then cleaned my bedroom. I still need to go through my jewelery and a 3 drawers in the dresser but done  after that in there. I also cleaned a little around my desk, but need to finish that up today. I did a little at a time and rested the back a lot. Tim fixed supper after he got  in from work by grilling for us.

Today I would like to finish the bedroom ad the desk area and I will be fixing supper.

I still don't know if I am going to go with the ladies or not tomorrow, it really all depends on how the back feels in the morning. I do have to go into town and take care of a couple of bills.

Topic :   Hello

It is so Hot!!!!!

All week  our temps have been 80's to the 100's. Supposed to be this way at least through Thursday.

Jim and Cowboy took the girls to their place these week as it is so hot here. They have air conditioning and cowboy has been taking the girls to the beach in the afternoon and Tommy took them to the water park as well.

We were supposed to go to the water park tomorrow  for home league but with this heat and a heat index warning we are  just going to stay at the Corp and play games. I wasn't going to go, as I know that I can't take the heat, but  with staying there I will go.

I have ball games the next two  evenings, both at 6 PM. I am going to make sure that I have Gatorade to drink!

I changed my menu tonight. As it was so hot I made a pasta salad, a chef's salad and tuna salad. almost everything was ate. We had nine here for supper. I have no idea about what I am going to cook for tomorrow. It was supposed to be a Pork chop supper but it is too hot to cook that! I thought about cooking hamburgers out but won't be here until almost 8 so that is out. After I post this I am going to tryto find a cool meal to fix. I think I have enough lettuce left that I might make a taco salad if I do. but still will  look around and see what I come up with.

It is so hot that I have done very little.Tim stopped last nigh and got three more fans and they sure helped. Tammy cleaned mine this morning whileI was doing something else. It is even hot in the night, no relieve at  all. We are supposed to have a pick up game tomorrow afternoon but I am not sure if we will or not with the weather being what it is. The last two days I have stayed home and tried to stay cool. I haven't even been on computer very much because it is just to hot sitting here.

Today we stripped the boys to their undies and  took them out back to play in the water to help cool them off. We did that a couple of times. They had a ball, I also think that Tammy had as much fun as the boys did....lol

Still need finish cleaning the kitchen from supper but trying to wait until the sun goes down. Temp doesn't necessarily get much lower but at least it seems to be a little less hot in the kitchen.

You have to understand that this is not normal weather for Washington. We do have hot days, I don't mean that we don't, but we don't generally have days on end with this high of a temps.

Well I wanted to let you all know what was going on with me. I won't be home to much the next coupe days so don't know for sure when I will  be back on.

Hello everyone.
Just when I think things are slowing down, it gets more hectic than ever!

Our softball leagues are done this week, however I will be coaching a Men's Fall team starting the second week in August. The good news on this is that it is only 5 weeks long with two games per week. I will also have one practice per week as well.

Activities for me over the next two months will include planning a softball banquet, setting up a fall Men's fellowship, two birthday game days for Home League, one of which will include visitors from other Corps.

OK had to stop and leave, didn't know that I  was going today but I got  ready in 5 and took Tim to  work. Then went and got breakfast for him, Lauren & I. After that Lauren & I went to one of the dollar stores, then to the grocery and then  home. Had help when I got here to put the canned stuff away and Tammy took the freezer stuff to the freezer.

We will soon start planning Rally Day at the Corp. It is in September and kicks off the Neighborhood Night that we have on Friday nights. We have the rally on Saturday and then the following Friday will start the Neighborhood nights.

Also have to start thinking about  the kids and school starting. It won't be long now.Christine will be going to Middle school as  she is in the 6th grade and Lauren will still be at Kitsap Lake elementary as she is in the 4th. But need to start  thinking about clothes, shoes and supplies.

This past week has been really busy. I was gone everyday & night doing something. Hopefully that schedule doesn't repeat too often....LOL

Well I know that I had a lot more to tell you but since I left and came back my mind isn't thinking of it.

Just stopped by to see if any notes left. Today I made a couple of Rhubarb and ginger dampers! They smell like heaven.

These are much like a sweet soda bread made with white flour. Fresh finely chopped rhubard is added after being softened in a nob of  melted butter. Finely chopped crystalised ginger is used as well and I always have that in the cupboard because it is so yummy.

I had some milk that was just turning sour and that works a treat in soda breads or scones.

We went shopping into town today.  The bus broke down and another had to come out and what with road works it took ages. I knew we should have gone by train.........lol!

Hugs Maureen

Re :   Kittie Would Like

Oh Kittie,

Thank you so much. You bought tears to my eyes.  I am always happy to make things for Julie as she always is so appreciative and gives me lots of time as well as letting me do my own thing!

A word of appreciation makes it so worthwhile.

I got you PM by the way and that was really sweet of you too.  I am always happy to make a tile or banner.  This skin is made from one picture tile, one matching plain tile and a forum wide banner.  The images of the poser with the cookie and the mil and apple were made especially for this group.
Well I am off out now to the locale Lavender Farm as it is Lavender Week there.
